Yoga
For Teens
Saturdays, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
April 26, May 3, May 10, May 17
Class fee: $40 (Try one class for $10)
This
class is a great opportunity for teens to discover the benefits
of yoga. If you've ever wanted to learn yoga, or if you already
have taken some yoga classes, you'll find this class both
rewarding and enjoyable.
"When
I started I had no specific expectations for what I wanted
to get out of it. My mom had been doing it for some time
and encouraged me along with my brother and his girlfriend,
to try it out. It was more difficult than I anticipated,
but I found that made it even more rewarding. I began to
notice improved strength and flexibility that was useful
in my everyday life, but more importantly yoga gave me a
nice hour and a half every week in which I could concentrate
absolutely on myself. During yoga, I am required to think
of nothing except what I am doing with my body, leaving
no room for any negativity from the events of the day. Yoga
is more than a stellar way to improve your health; it is
also an extremely enjoyable and therapeutic release."
Allie L., Senior, City High
The Teen
class will be taught by Jenn Bowen, teacher in training, under
the supervision of Nancy Footner, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher.

the poses so that everyone can work safely with their limitations.
